Pepperdine beats Portland 86-73, advances in WCC Tournament

    In an exciting matchup in Las Vegas, Moe Odum delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 31 points and distributing 11 assists, to guide Pepperdine to an 86-73 victory over Portland in the second round of the West Coast Conference Tournament on Friday night.

    With this success, the ninth-seeded Waves, holding an 11-21 record, progress to challenge No. 5 seed Oregon State in the third round scheduled for Saturday.

    Contributing to the win, Stefan Todorovic added a solid 19 points along with six rebounds, while Boubacar Coulibaly chipped in with 12 points on an impressive 5-for-7 shooting accuracy.

    On the other side, the Pilots, whose season record stands at 12-20, saw Vukasin Masic leading their efforts with 26 points. Austin Rapp provided support with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, and Max Mackinnon also played a noteworthy role with 16 points and five assists.

    In the first half, Todorovic had already scored 10 points, though Pepperdine found themselves trailing 38-29 at halftime. Odum took charge in the concluding moments, scoring the Waves’ last seven points to seal their triumph.
