    BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — In a thrilling Mid-American Conference regular-season finale on Friday night, Javaughn Hannah led the charge with 18 points as Western Michigan orchestrated a narrow 64-63 victory over Bowling Green. Chansey Willis Jr. played a pivotal role, hitting the first of two crucial free throws with just two seconds left on the clock, ensuring the Broncos clinched the win.

    Western Michigan ended the regular season with a record of 12-19, 9-9 in the conference, securing the sixth spot in the standings. This result sets them up for a conference tournament quarterfinal showdown against No. 3 seed Kent State on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bowling Green wrapped up their season with a 14-17, 8-10 record, landing them in eighth place and pitting them against the top-seeded Akron in the upcoming tournament.

    Beyond his scoring prowess, Hannah contributed significantly with six rebounds for the Broncos. Owen Lobsinger had an impressive performance with 17 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Willis added 12 points. For Bowling Green, Marcus Johnson and Derrick Butler each made notable contributions, scoring 20 points apiece. DaJion Humphrey, who attempted a last-second 3-pointer that missed, finished the game with 10 points.

    The Broncos held a slim lead at halftime, going into the break up 33-32 after a strong first-half showing by Lobsinger, who scored 12 points. In the second half, Hannah added another 11 points, helping ensure a tightly contested yet successful conclusion to the regular season for Western Michigan.
