JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — In an intense matchup on Friday, Radford triumphed over Presbyterian with a score of 74-69 in the overtime phase of the Big South Conference Tournament quarterfinals. Jarvis Moss played a significant role in securing the victory, contributing 16 points, while David Early made a crucial impact in overtime, adding seven points.
As the fourth seed, Radford is set to face High Point, the league champion, in the semifinals scheduled for Saturday. Moss demonstrated his skills by shooting 4 of 10 from the field and making three of eight attempts from beyond the arc. He also excelled at the free-throw line, scoring five out of six attempts. TJ Nesmith boosted the Highlanders with 15 points and six rebounds. Despite struggling from the field, Early scored 14 points, making eight of his nine free-throw attempts.
On the other side, Kobe Stewart shone for Presbyterian with a commendable 22 points and three steals. Kaleb Scott contributed to the effort with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Kory Mincy added 13 points and an impressive eight assists. Despite being outscored by 14 points in the second half, Radford held strong and took the game into overtime tied at 65.
In overtime, Early made a crucial one of two shots from the field and went a perfect five out of five from the line, helping to cement Radford’s narrow victory over Presbyterian. This win paves the way for what promises to be an exciting semifinal showdown on Saturday.
