INDIANAPOLIS — JuJu Watkins delivered a stellar performance with 31 points, and Kiki Iriafen contributed 21 points along with 10 rebounds each, as they made their debut in the Big Ten Tournament. Their efforts propelled No. 2 Southern California to an 84-79 victory against Indiana this Friday in Indianapolis.
Southern California, now boasting a record of 27-2, has successfully conquered all three of their games in Indiana this season. They advance into Saturday’s semifinal riding an eight-game winning streak, where they will meet fifth-seeded Michigan, who holds a 22-9 record.
The Hoosiers, now 19-12, were led by Yarden Garzon, who secured 23 points, succeeding in netting five out of six attempts from beyond the arc. Garzon also collected eight rebounds, while Shay Ciezki supported the team with 15 points. Despite Indiana entering with a two-game winning roll, it came to an end with this match.
The encounter saw USC attempting to extend their lead with a 13-4 run towards the end of the third quarter, establishing a 55-48 advantage. Nevertheless, Indiana fought back, closing the gap and entering the fourth quarter at 59-57. USC, however, widened the lead once more with a 9-3 run, creating a margin of 71-63 with 5:15 left in the match.
Indiana was unable to mount a comeback from there.

Indiana appeared to secure an NCAA Tournament slot with their earlier triumph over Oregon. Any lingering uncertainties were dispelled with Friday’s close contest. Indiana closely followed coach Teri Moren’s blueprint, resulting in a tighter game than anticipated.
Meanwhile, USC faced challenges offensively, struggled with foul issues defensively, and allowed Indiana to remain competitive throughout much of the game. Despite the hurdles, USC managed to move forward in the tournament.
