    In a Southwestern Athletic Conference showdown, Alcorn State emerged victorious over Mississippi Valley State with a final score of 72-64 on Thursday in Itta Bena, Mississippi. Djahi Binet led the Braves to their triumph by scoring an impressive 21 points. Alongside his scoring prowess, Binet also secured 10 rebounds, contributing significantly to the team’s overall performance.

    Joining Binet in supporting the Braves was Julian Lual, who contributed 12 points with a shooting accuracy of 5 out of 10 from the field. Lual also showcased his defensive skills by nabbing 10 rebounds and achieving three steals, making him a crucial player on both ends of the court. Additionally, Marcus Tankersley managed to deliver 12 points despite shooting 5 of 14 from the field.

    On the opposite side, Mississippi Valley State fought hard with Antonio Sisk leading the charge. Sisk managed to score 17 points, emerging as the top scorer for the Delta Devils in this matchup. The team also benefitted from Alvin Stredic Jr., who added 13 points, and Jair Horton, who contributed 10 points to the team’s efforts. Despite their determination, this loss marks the eighth in a row for the Delta Devils.
