ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues are facing the prospect of continuing their season without their top defenseman, Colton Parayko, due to an injury sustained during their recent victory over the Los Angeles Kings. The injury to Parayko’s left knee is expected to sideline him for the remainder of the regular season.

General Manager and President of Hockey Operations Doug Armstrong announced that Parayko will undergo a knee scope and a follow-up assessment in six weeks. Unfortunately, the timeline for his evaluation coincides closely with the Blues’ final regular-season game, leaving his availability uncertain.

Parayko, at 31 years old, is a pivotal player for the Blues, averaging close to 24 minutes per game over 62 appearances and contributing 35 points this season. His injury is a significant setback for the team, which is currently vying for a playoff position, trailing by just one point for the last wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

In other team news, the Blues have reinforced their goaltending squad by signing Colten Ellis to a two-year, two-way contract extension. Ellis will earn the league minimum of $775,000 if he plays in the NHL over the next two seasons, with earnings of $175,000 in 2025-26 and $225,000 in the AHL in 2026-27.
