Bass Scores 23 in Lindenwood’s 73-65 Win Over Morehead

    In a thrilling first-round clash of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, Lindenwood University, seeded sixth, emerged victorious against seventh-seeded Morehead State with a 73-65 win on Wednesday night in Evansville, Indiana.

    Reggie Bass led the charge for Lindenwood, scoring an impressive 23 points and securing four steals. With this win, Lindenwood (16-16) has advanced to the quarterfinals where they will confront the third seed, Tennessee State, on Thursday.

    Contributing significantly to Lindenwood’s victory was Anias Futrell, who notched 15 points and dominated the boards with 13 rebounds. Additionally, Markeith Browning II added 14 points to the team’s tally.

    On the opposing side, Morehead State (15-17) saw Kenny White Jr. leading with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Tyler Brelsford added 10 points. Steven Clay chipped in with nine points. Unfortunately for the Eagles, this marks their ninth consecutive loss.

    During the first half, Browning’s efforts, scoring eight points, saw Lindenwood trailing Morehead State 30-21 at the halftime break. However, a remarkable 16-point performance by Bass in the second half helped Lindenwood overturn the deficit and secure an eight-point triumph.
