Durugordon’s 21 leads ODU over Louisiana, 67-49

    PENSACOLA, Fla. — In a second-round matchup of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, Old Dominion emerged victorious over Louisiana with a score of 67-49. The game saw Sean Durugordon as a standout performer, scoring 17 out of his 21 points after the break, along with pulling down 10 rebounds.

    Old Dominion, which entered the tournament as the 10th seed, now racks up a record of 13-19 and is set to go head-to-head against seventh-seeded Texas State on Thursday. Louisiana, coming in as the 11th seed, was unable to advance.

    Caelum Swanton-Rodger contributed significantly to Old Dominion’s victory, managing to score 18 points while hitting 9 of 13 shots. He also added 10 rebounds and made three blocks to his name. Robert Davis Jr. chipped in with 10 points, shooting 3 for 9 overall and 2 for 6 from beyond the arc, and was 2 for 3 from the free-throw line. This triumph for the Monarchs helped put an end to a six-game losing streak.

    For Louisiana, Mostapha El Moutaouakkil took the lead in scoring, racking up 22 points. Meanwhile, Michael Thomas notched 14 points and garnered six rebounds to aid the Ragin’ Cajuns. Kyran Ratliff also contributed with four points and managed two steals.
