Brown Leads UMKC to Victory Over Oral Roberts, 73-56

    In a decisive game at the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jamar Brown was instrumental in UMKC’s 73-56 triumph over Oral Roberts. Brown contributed significantly with 24 points during Wednesday’s matchup, paving the way for UMKC’s progression.

    UMKC, holding the eighth seed with a 13-19 record, is set to challenge top-seeded Omaha on Thursday as the tournament continues. Meanwhile, Oral Roberts ended their season with a 7-23 record, entering the tournament as the ninth and final seed.

    Brown’s performance was outstanding as he successfully made nine of 15 attempts from the field, including five of ten from the three-point line. Supporting Brown, Jayson Petty made a notable impact with 18 points and led the team in rebounds with seven. Cameron Faas contributed 15 points, making six of 12 field goals, and was effective from long range with three out of seven successful three-point attempts.

    On the other side, Oral Roberts was led by Issac McBride, who scored 19 points and gathered six rebounds. His teammate, Sam Alajiki, added 12 points along with six rebounds, while Jalen Miller chipped in eight points.

    Petty was particularly influential in the second half, adding 16 points to UMKC’s tally. This contribution was key in extending their lead as UMKC outpaced Oral Roberts by 11 points in the latter half to seal their victory.
