PARIS – Doja Cat made a notable presence at Balmain’s fall fashion show during Paris Fashion Week, just days after gracing the Oscars red carpet in a bespoke beaded Balmain gown.
In contrast to the red-carpet glamour, designer Olivier Rousteing’s runway display embraced a different aspect of luxury—emphasizing sculptural knitwear, fluid drapes, and bold zebra patterns.

The collection kicked off with a signature piece from Rousteing—a sweeping hooded sweater, this time matched with a leather peplum and relaxed leather pants.
Knitwear was the main attraction, as draped mohair, wool jersey dresses, and enveloping sweaters imparted a relaxed vibe to the presentation.

Monochromatic outfits had a strong representation, interspersed with richly textured elements like pleats, ruched tops, and embossed leather that added depth to the color scheme.
This softness was juxtaposed with striking hardware and animal-inspired designs.
Chunky bracelets, talon earrings, and assertive zebra prints combined with oversized coats and laid-back boots reminded viewers of Balmain’s essence.

Footwear stole the spotlight, featuring sculpturally twisted pumps and boots of fuzzy or buttery-soft leather.
These injected an element of playfulness into the collection’s predominantly black and white tones, enlivened with citrus orange accents.

Despite the focus on draping and ease, the essence of Balmain prevailed through the accessories.
Rousteing’s venture into volume seemed like a refined adjustment rather than a complete overhaul, reinforcing the idea that luxury goes beyond mere extravagance to also embrace moments when the wardrobe is allowed to breathe.
