MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin’s football team is slated to begin its 2025 season with a Thursday night game. The university announced on Wednesday that the Badgers will kick off their season against Miami (Ohio) on Aug. 28, moving up from the originally scheduled date of Aug. 30. Although confirmation has been given that it will be a night game played at Camp Randall Stadium, specific kickoff times and television coverage details will be provided at a later date.
This will be the second consecutive year that Wisconsin starts its football season on a weeknight. The team opened the 2024 season with a Friday night clash against Western Michigan, securing a 28-14 victory on Aug. 30.
Wisconsin is determined to improve after finishing last season with a 5-7 record, marking the end of a remarkable streak of 22 consecutive winning seasons. Meanwhile, Miami (Ohio) concluded their recent season with a 9-5 record, highlighted by a dominant 43-17 win over Colorado State in the Arizona Bowl.
