EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University is set to relocate its concluding football match of the 2025 regular season from Spartan Stadium to the renowned Ford Field.
The university revealed on Wednesday that the Spartans will host the Maryland Terrapins on November 29 in Detroit. This strategic move follows their 2023 season finale at the iconic Detroit Lions’ venue, where the team faced off against Penn State, drawing nearly 52,000 spectators.
Alan Haller, the athletic director, expressed that feedback from a diverse group, including fans, donors, students, and media, was overwhelmingly positive regarding the event at Ford Field. According to Haller, “We experienced firsthand what makes Ford Field such a formidable home field advantage for the Detroit Lions. Our student-athletes harbour dreams of the NFL stage, and competing in a stadium of such prestige is an exhilarating opportunity for them.”
