NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Johnell Davis shone bright with 21 points as Arkansas triumphed over Vanderbilt with a score of 90-77 in their Tuesday night showdown. Trevon Brazile notably achieved his first double-double of the season, contributing 16 points and a notable season-high of 14 rebounds. Supporting the team effort, D.J. Wagner impressed with 14 points entirely from the second half, while Zvonimir Ivisic also added 14, and Karter Knox chipped in with 10 points for Arkansas, improving their record to 18-12 overall and 7-10 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

In a dynamic 13-0 spree, Knox executed two three-point plays and Brazile intercepted an inbounds pass, converting it into a spectacular windmill dunk. This remarkable run secured Arkansas the lead midway, closing the first half with a 43-35 advantage with only two seconds left on the clock.

As the game transitioned into the second half, A.J. Hoggard nailed a three-pointer within the first 41 seconds, trimming the deficit to six points. However, the Commodores could not manage to close the gap further. Tyler Nickel spearheaded Vanderbilt with 16 points, while Hoggard added 14 alongside seven assists. Devin McGlockton, although fouling out with nearly five minutes remaining, contributed 12 points, and MJ Collins added 10. Prior to Tuesday’s game, Vanderbilt was on a winning streak against ranked teams, having won three consecutive games.

Arkansas showcased efficiency by converting 33 out of 65 attempts from the field, attaining a 51% shooting accuracy while restraining Vanderbilt to a 38% shooting rate, connecting only 23 of their 60 attempts.

Adou Thiero was absent for his third straight game due to a knee issue, with Brazile stepping up in his place. Thiero, standing at 6-foot-8, has been instrumental for Arkansas, leading in scoring with an average of 15.6 points per game, and in rebounding with 6.0 per game while maintaining a 55% field goal percentage.

Both teams are set to finish their regular season on Saturday; Arkansas will host No. 25 Mississippi State, while Vanderbilt will head to Georgia for their concluding regular-season clash.
