    PENSACOLA, Fla. — In a hard-fought game at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, Mostapha El Moutaouakkil showcased his talents by netting 28 points, including a crucial seven points in overtime, to propel No. 11 seed Louisiana to a 73-69 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday night.

    Following this exciting win, Louisiana is set to face No. 10 seed Old Dominion in the tournament’s second round on Wednesday. El Moutaouakkil also contributed significantly with six rebounds for his team, the Ragin’ Cajuns, who improved their season record to 12-20. Supporting him was Michael Thomas, who delivered an impressive performance by scoring 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting, with a striking 5-for-9 from three-point range. Christian Wright also made a notable impact, finishing with nine points after going 3 of 6 from the field and making 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.

    On the opposing side, the Warhawks, now at 7-25 for the season, found their scoring leader in Jalen Bolden, who amassed 21 points. Tyreese Watson contributed to Louisiana-Monroe’s effort with 15 points and two steals, while AD Diedhiou also added 15 points.
