ATHENS, Ohio — In a tightly contested matchup, Eastern Michigan emerged victorious with an 83-79 win against Ohio on Tuesday night, securing their place in the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament. This victory places EMU alongside Toledo in the conference rankings, just a game behind both Ohio and Kent State, as each team approaches their final regular season game.
Christian Henry was a standout for the Eagles, scoring 23 points with impressive accuracy, shooting 8 for 12 from the field and maintaining a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line. Teammate Jalen Terry contributed 15 points and six rebounds, while Da’Sean Nelson added 14 points, performing solidly with 5 of 13 from the field and a flawless 4 for 4 on free throws.
Leading the charge for the Bobcats was Jackson Paveletzke, who scored 20 points and provided five assists. Supporting him was Shereef Mitchell, who added 17 points and captured three steals. AJ Clayton rounded out Ohio’s contributors with 12 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.
The game remained evenly matched at halftime, tied at 38-38. However, Henry’s 15-point surge in the second half was pivotal in guiding Eastern Michigan to close the game with a narrow four-point lead.
