DALLAS — On Monday, the Dallas Mavericks announced an increase in season ticket prices for the next season, a decision coming right after their recent trade of star player Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The team stated that season tickets will rise by an average of 8.61% due to “ongoing investments in the team and fan engagement.” This decision occurs amid a climate of discontent among fans, sparked by the trade that sent Doncic to the Lakers. In return, the Mavericks received a package featuring Anthony Davis, known as a talented but frequently injured 10-time All-Star.
Anthony Davis managed to score 26 points in his Mavericks debut on February 8 but, unfortunately, exited the game later due to a groin injury and hasn’t been able to return to the court since then.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic has been thriving with the Lakers, rejuvenating their championship prospects. Last season, Doncic played a crucial role in leading the Mavericks to the NBA Finals, where they were defeated by the Boston Celtics.
Despite the ticket price increase, the Mavericks assure full-season ticket holders that they will continue to enjoy savings of 15% to 23% compared to estimated secondary market prices. Moreover, the team notes that approximately 4,200 seats per game will remain priced below $40.
