In Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday, a court sanctioned the detention of two individuals for 21 days in relation to the murder case of a British national. This decision follows the discovery of Campbell Scott’s body, which was found mere days after his arrival in the country for a conference.
Campbell Scott, aged 58, was reported missing before authorities located his remains on February 22. His body was discovered concealed within a bag, just shortly after he had last been seen alive. The suspects, both Kenyan men, were apprehended after investigations pointed to their involvement in Scott’s death.
The grim find was made in the secluded area of Mukuyuni in eastern Kenya, approximately 110 kilometers (68 miles) from the capital city, Nairobi.
According to police reports, Scott was last observed departing his hotel in the company of an unidentified man before they both traveled by taxi to a residential neighborhood in Nairobi. Authorities have also detained the taxi driver who transported them and he is currently aiding the police with their inquiries.
Last week, government pathologist Johansen Oduor indicated to the local media that the initial autopsy results on Scott’s body did not provide clear conclusions. Consequently, additional toxicology tests are being conducted to gather further information.
