Inter Milan is set to face Feyenoord in the Champions League round of 16 without one of its significant players. Federico Dimarco sustained a hamstring injury, having to leave the field during the team’s 1-1 game against Napoli on Saturday, where he had earlier scored through a remarkable free kick.

Inter Milan disclosed that Dimarco underwent medical examinations at the Istituto Humanitas di Rozzano. The tests confirmed a strained muscle in his right thigh. According to the club, his recovery and availability will be monitored and assessed over the upcoming days.

Dimarco has been a crucial figure for Inter Milan this season, netting four goals and setting up five in Serie A, helping the defending champions maintain their position at the top of the standings. His contributions have extended into the Champions League with two assists already to his name. Unfortunately, due to this injury, the 27-year-old may be sidelined for up to three weeks, potentially missing several important matches.

He is expected to miss both Champions League fixtures against Feyenoord—Wednesday’s opening leg and the return match the following week at San Siro—and may also sit out Serie A matches against Monza and Atalanta, who are currently third in the league.

With Dimarco’s absence, Denzel Dumfries is the only wing-back available for the game against Feyenoord, as Carlos Augusto, Matteo Darmian, and Nicola Zalewski are also sidelined due to injuries.
