SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Domantas Sabonis, who currently leads the NBA in rebounding, will be sidelined for an unspecified period following an injury sustained in Saturday night’s game where the Sacramento Kings triumphed over the Houston Rockets.
The Kings, who are trailing the Los Angeles Clippers by a mere half-game for the sixth seed in the Western Conference, made an announcement on Sunday revealing that Sabonis has suffered a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring. They plan to provide an update regarding his condition in a week’s time.
The incident occurred just a minute into the game when Sabonis was sprinting down the court, only to suddenly stop and clutch his left hamstring in apparent distress. So far this season, Sabonis has been a key player for the Kings, boasting an average of 19.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists across 56 games.
