Ja Morant Fined for Ball Toss into Crowd

    NEW YORK – On Sunday, the Memphis Grizzlies’ standout player, Ja Morant, was penalized with a $25,000 fine after an incident that occurred during the Grizzlies’ home game against the New York Knicks on Friday night.

    At the conclusion of the third quarter, with Memphis ahead 88-82, a frustrated Morant threw the basketball across the court and into the audience, resulting in a technical foul being assessed against him.

    Despite the lead, the Grizzlies could not maintain their advantage, and the Knicks came back to secure a narrow victory, winning 114-113 by the game’s end.

    This season, Morant has been putting up impressive numbers, averaging 20.9 points along with 7.4 assists per game. Heading into Sunday’s games, the Grizzlies were positioned in fourth place within the Western Conference standings.
