Boyd’s 25 leads Charleston to 87-65 win over Campbell

    CHARLESTON, S.C. — Led by Derrin Boyd’s impressive 25-point performance, Charleston (SC) clinched a commanding 87-65 victory over Campbell as the regular season of the Coastal Athletic Association concluded on Saturday.
    The CAA tournament is set to commence on Friday in Washington. Campbell enters the competition on Saturday in the second round, whereas Charleston occupies the third seed and will make their appearance in the quarterfinals on Sunday.
    Boyd not only contributed significantly with his points but also grabbed five rebounds, solidifying the Cougars’ (23-8, 13-5 CAA) strong performance. AJ Smith delivered an outstanding game, scoring 20 points while making 9 of his 12 shots, and collecting five rebounds as well. Ante Brzovic also had a notable contribution with 14 points, six of 10 shooting accuracy, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks.
    The Fighting Camels (15-16, 10-8 CAA) saw key efforts from Colby Duggan, who led his team in scoring with 19 points. Additionally, Cameron Gregory supported the team with 12 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Meanwhile, Nolan Dorsey contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals to Campbell’s efforts.
