HUNTSVILLE, Texas — In a striking performance, Robert Brown III notched up 25 points to lead Nicholls to a commanding 94-70 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.
Brown showed versatility by also collecting five rebounds for the Colonels, who improved their record to 19-11, including a notable 13-6 in the Southland Conference. Trae English contributed significantly with 15 points as he made 6 of his 10 shots, netting two out of four from beyond the arc, and pulling down six rebounds. Another key player, Sincere Malone, put in a strong showing, hitting 4 of 9 from the field and capitalizing on 5 of 6 free throws. He compiled a total of 13 points, supplemented with seven rebounds, a remarkable 10 assists, and five steals.
Myles Jenkins stood out for the Lumberjacks, scoring 16 points as they faced challenges throughout the game. Kyle Hayman offered additional support with 14 points, alongside four assists and two steals. Keon Thompson also added to the tally with 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
Looking ahead, both teams have games scheduled for Monday. Nicholls is set to visit Lamar, while the Lumberjacks will host McNeese.
