Baye Ndongo was a standout performer, achieving a personal best by scoring 29 points and claiming 17 rebounds. His teammate, Duncan Powell, also delivered an exceptional performance, contributing 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Lance Terry added to the team’s efforts with 15 points, while Jaeden Mustaf came off the bench to score 13 points. Additionally, Naithan George was instrumental in directing play with 12 assists. The Yellow Jackets (15-14, 9-9 ACC) capitalized on their opponent’s vulnerabilities by scoring 21 points off N.C. State’s 14 turnovers, as well as showing superiority in second-chance points with a 23-4 advantage, powered by their 14 offensive rebounds.
For the Wolfpack (11-18, 4-14), Ben Middlebrooks and Dontrez Styles each managed to score 13 points. However, the team struggled overall, managing only a 38% shooting percentage. In a late surge during the first half, Georgia Tech closed with a 16-5 run, taking a 41-30 lead at halftime. Their momentum continued in the second half, maintaining a double-digit lead that expanded to 24 points following a 13-0 run with less than five minutes left in the game.
Looking ahead, N.C. State aims to bounce back as they are set to play against Pitt at home on Wednesday, before wrapping up their season at Miami next Saturday. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech prepares to host Miami on Tuesday, with their final regular-season game scheduled against Wake Forest next Saturday.
