    ORANGEBURG, S.C. — South Carolina State pulled off an impressive victory over first-place Norfolk State with the help of Drayton Jones, who contributed significantly by scoring 20 points. The final score was 91-88 in this closely contested game on Saturday. The Bulldogs, now holding a record of 16-12 and 9-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, benefited not only from Jones’ performance but also his eight rebounds.

    Supporting Jones was Davion Everett, who showcased his skills with 19 points. Everett was efficient from the floor, hitting 7 of his 11 attempts and going 5 of 8 from the free-throw line. Additionally, he contributed to the team’s success with 10 rebounds and five assists. Mitchel Taylor also made a significant impact, particularly with his accuracy from beyond the arc. Taylor made 6 out of his 7 three-point attempts, rounding out the game with 18 points. This win marks the seventh consecutive victory for the Bulldogs, continuing their strong performance in the league.
