Joshua Guides Albany to Victory Over NJIT, 86-59

    NEWARK, N.J. — Byron Joshua delivered a solid performance with 17 points, propelling Albany to an emphatic 86-59 victory over NJIT on Saturday.

    Joshua also contributed significantly to the team effort with seven assists, pushing the Great Danes to a successful 16-14 season record, including 8-7 in the America East Conference. Kacper Klaczek supported the victory with 16 points and five rebounds, demonstrating excellent versatility.

    Contributing to Albany’s strong showing, DeMarr Langford Jr., Bautista Giralt, and Amar’e Marshall each chipped in with 10 points, rounding off a well-rounded team performance. The Highlanders, whose season has been challenging, with a 5-25 record and a 2-13 standing in the conference, suffered their eighth consecutive defeat.

    Tariq Francis was the standout player for NJIT, scoring 19 points and providing two steals. Additional contributions came from Ari Fulton, with nine points, and Triston Wennersten, who added eight points to the tally.

    Looking ahead, both teams will wrap up their regular seasons on Tuesday. The Great Danes are set to face Vermont, while the Highlanders will travel to play against Binghamton.
