Williamson Leads Bucknell to Victory, Clinch League Title

    WORCESTER, Mass. — Bucknell sealed a share of the Patriot League title with a 94-81 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday, thanks to a strong performance from Noah Williamson who scored 22 points. This win assures the Bison a spot in the conference tournament, which begins on Tuesday, with their quarterfinal game taking place on Thursday.

    Williamson also demonstrated his versatility with seven rebounds contributing to the Bison’s overall success. Josh Bascoe was another key player, adding 21 points and distributing six assists, while Achile Spadone impressed with 14 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting performance. This triumph marks Bucknell’s sixth consecutive win, positioning them as formidable contenders in the upcoming tournament.

    Holy Cross had notable performances from Max Green, who led with 22 points along with six assists. Joe Nugent was a standout for the Crusaders, matching Green with 22 points and contributing two steals to his team’s effort. Meanwhile, Caleb Kenney also made a significant impact by scoring 21 points.

    With this victory, Bucknell stands at 17-14 overall and 13-5 in the Patriot League, while Holy Cross finishes their season with a 13-18 record, including 5-13 within the league.
