STATESBORO, Ga. — In an exhilarating regular season showdown, Georgia Southern overcame Georgia State by a single point, capturing a 76-75 victory on Friday night.
The Eagles, who wrapped up the season with a 16-15 overall record and 8-10 in the Sun Belt Conference, were powered by Adante’ Holiman’s stellar performance. Holiman was on fire, scoring 24 points with impressive accuracy, making 8 of 13 shots, including an exceptional 6 of 10 from the three-point line.
His teammate, Nakavieon White, supported the effort by contributing 18 points. White was also effective from the field, making 6 out of 13 shots and was productive at the free-throw line by converting 4 of his 6 attempts. Eren Banks added a significant 13 points, shooting 6 for 9 and making one of his three three-point attempts.
On the opposing side, the Panthers recorded a 13-18 overall season finish with an 8-10 conference tally. Their primary offensive contributor was Cesare Edwards, who tallied 21 points while also securing seven rebounds and two blocks, proving to be a formidable presence on the court.
Zarigue Nutter made his mark for Georgia State as well, with 14 points and two steals, while Nicholas McMullen contributed significantly by scoring 12 points and dominating the boards with nine rebounds.
