Eastern Michigan beats Central Michigan with Nelson’s 25

    YPSILANTI, Mich. — Da’Sean Nelson delivered an outstanding performance, leading Eastern Michigan to an 84-73 triumph over Central Michigan on Friday evening.

    Nelson showcased his all-around abilities by amassing 25 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists for the Eagles. Alongside him, Jalen Terry matched Nelson’s scoring output with 25 points and contributed significantly with seven rebounds. Christian Henry was efficient from the field, shooting 5-for-9 and sinking 3-of-6 from three-point range to finish with 13 points.

    For the Chippewas, Ugnius Jarusevicius was the top scorer, tallying 23 points, corralling 11 rebounds, and rejecting two shots. Supporting him, Jakobi Heady delivered 21 points and two steals. Anthony Pritchard also made a notable contribution with 15 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

    The game saw Eastern Michigan taking control with 16:47 left in the first half and maintaining their lead throughout. Powered by Nelson’s 11 first-half points, the Eagles held a 44-36 advantage at halftime. In the second half, Terry’s remarkable 20-point surge ensured Eastern Michigan sealed their 11-point victory.

    Looking ahead, both teams have upcoming games on Tuesday. Eastern Michigan is set to travel to Ohio, while Central Michigan will face Ball State on the road.
