Cornell University secured an impressive 90-62 victory over Pennsylvania on Friday night in Ithaca, New York. Cooper Noard was the standout player, leading the team with 19 points, helping his team to tie for second place in the Ivy League standings alongside Dartmouth and Princeton. All three teams share a 7-5 record in the conference play following Yale’s win over Dartmouth, positioning them five games behind Yale, the league leaders. The top four teams will move forward to the Ivy League tournament.

Noard demonstrated his shooting prowess, hitting 7 out of 12 from the field, and sinking 4 of 8 from three-point range, contributing significantly to the Big Red’s success. Jake Fiegen added to Cornell’s score, netting 16 points with a sharp 5 for 8 shooting performance, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, and flawlessly converting 3 free throws. Nazir Williams also performed well, tallying 11 points on 4 for 6 shooting, impressively going 3 for 3 from the three-point line.

The Quakers’ Sam Brown matched Noard’s point tally with 19 points, while also managing to make two steals during the game. Nick Spinoso made strides for Pennsylvania with a double-double, contributing 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ethan Roberts rounded off the efforts with 10 points.

Looking ahead, Cornell will host Princeton for a home game on Sunday, while Pennsylvania will travel to face Columbia on Saturday. With only two games left in the regular season, every match is crucial as teams contend for a spot in the upcoming Ivy League tournament.
