The presentation of Moschino’s runway collection for the upcoming fall and winter seasons conveyed both a jubilant atmosphere and an alerting message, highlighted at the end of the show by a cascade of black confetti. The event took place on Friday amid Milan Fashion Week. Creative director Adrian Appiolaza wore a sweatshirt with the bold message “Don’t be silent” during his concluding bow.
“The true essence of Moschino is derived from joy, and I aimed to preserve that sentiment,” stated Appiolaza. “However, I also wanted to be mindful of the times we are living in.”
The collection maintained a playful theme, integrating the brand’s characteristic trompe l’oeil optical illusions to engage the audience. Raw denim ensembles displayed the tailor’s preliminary stitches, while gray wool dresses included exaggerated, sculptural details, creating the effect of wind lifting the skirt hems and inflating the bell sleeves. Oversized puffer jackets were accessorized with headgear resembling sofa cushions. Attractive gowns were crafted using floral themes sourced from Moschino’s archives.
In a tribute to the brand’s legacy, the show concluded with an SOS appeal drawn from the archives of late founder Franco Moschino, titled “Save Our Sphere.” A model walked the runway carrying a handbag designed in the shape of the globe, underscoring the call for environmental awareness. Notable figures in the front row included singers Normani and Neneh Cherry, the latter having recently released a memoir in October.
