Riverside Triumphs Over Hawaii 82-76

    HONOLULU — Barrington Hargress delivered a standout performance, scoring 25 points to propel UC Riverside to an 82-76 victory over Hawaii on Thursday night.

    Hargress was impressive on the court, making 9 of 19 attempts from the field. His shooting included a solid 1-for-3 from beyond the arc, and he showed his prowess at the free-throw line with 6 successful shots out of 7 attempts for the Highlanders, who improved their record to 19-11, including 12-6 in the Big West Conference. Isaiah Moses contributed notably with 14 points, shooting 4 for 11 overall, including 2 of 5 from the three-point range. Moses also excelled at the line, going 4 of 5 and gathering seven rebounds. Kaleb Smith was a key player as well, managing a 50% shooting record with 5 of 10, including 2 of 4 from long distance, bringing his total to 14 points.

    On the other side, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, now standing at a balanced 14-14, with a conference record of 6-11, found their top scorer in Gytis Nemeiksa, who finished the game with 17 points. Ryan Rapp also made a substantial contribution for Hawaii, adding 16 points to the scoreboard. Aaron Hunkin-Claytor added depth to the team’s statistics by scoring 11 points and further supporting with five assists and two steals.
