Western Kentucky triumphs over UTEP, 80-73

    EL PASO, Texas — A thrilling basketball game unfolded as Tyrone Marshall’s standout performance led Western Kentucky to an 80-73 victory over UTEP on Thursday night.

    Marshall was instrumental in the win for the Hilltoppers, contributing 16 points along with nine rebounds in a strong display on the court. Supporting him was Don McHenry, who added 15 points and snagged five rebounds, while Braxton Bayless complemented the effort by scoring 14 points, making 5 out of 9 field goal attempts and converting 4 out of 6 free throws.

    In response, the Miners also showed resilience with David Terrell Jr. taking the helm. Terrell Jr. filled the stat sheet with an impressive 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Devon Barnes was equally effective for UTEP, matching Terrell Jr.’s point tally with 14 points. Kevin Kalu also contributed significantly by adding 13 points and securing seven rebounds.

    The victory marks an important step for Western Kentucky as they improve their overall performance. Meanwhile, it was a challenging night for UTEP as they too aim to enhance their standing within Conference USA, matching Western Kentucky’s conference record of 7-8.
