Robinson Leads NKU to 79-74 Win Over Purdue Fort Wayne

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Northern Kentucky’s basketball team clinched a win against Purdue Fort Wayne with a score of 79-74 on Thursday night, led by Trey Robinson who contributed significantly with 25 points.

    Robinson also made an impact defensively, securing three steals for the Norse, who now hold a 15-15 overall record and 10-9 in the Horizon League. Another standout performance came from Dan Gherezgher Jr., who put up 22 points, successfully making 9 out of 16 shots, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc. Adding to the team’s success, LJ Wells scored 17 points, hitting 8 of his 11 attempts from the floor.

    On the opposing side, Rasheed Bello topped the scoring for the Mastodons, contributing 20 points alongside three steals. Supporting Bello, Jalen Jackson tallied 19 points, gathered six rebounds, and provided four assists for Purdue Fort Wayne. Trey Lewis chipped in with seven points, rounding out the team’s key performers.

    Looking ahead, both teams are back in action on Saturday. Northern Kentucky is set to host Youngstown State, while Purdue Fort Wayne travels to face Cleveland State.
