Towson, Md. — Towson University secured an emphatic 88-73 victory over William & Mary on Thursday night, clinching the outright Coastal Athletic Association title. Dylan Williamson and Tyler Tejada were pivotal in leading their team to victory, each contributing 20 points to the Tigers’ win.
Williamson not only showcased his scoring prowess but also proved to be an excellent playmaker, recording six assists for the Tigers, who now stand at 20-10 overall and 15-2 in conference play. Tejada was efficient from the floor, hitting 7 of 14 field goals, including 4 of 9 from three-point territory. In addition, Tomiwa Sulaiman was a strong presence, making 4 of 6 field goals, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and converting 5 free throws for a total of 15 points.
On the opposing side, Gabe Dorsey led William & Mary with 19 points, while Matteus Case added 11 points to the team’s effort. Finn Lally contributed 9 points for the Tribe, who now hold a record of 17-13 and 11-6 within the conference.
Despite being 12 points down at halftime with Towson trailing 44-32, the duo of Williamson and Tejada showed resilience. Williamson, in particular, was exceptional in the second half, contributing 17 of his 20 points during this period to help steer the team to victory.
Both teams will wrap up their regular-season play on Saturday, with Towson set to host Hampton and William & Mary scheduled to host Northeastern.
