DUBLIN – Ireland’s Garry Ringrose faced a three-game suspension stemming from his red card during last weekend’s match against Wales. The disciplinary action was taken after a Six Nations committee deemed his collision with Welsh player Ben Thomas as reckless. Despite Ringrose’s absence, Ireland managed a 27-18 victory in the Cardiff showdown.
As a consequence of the suspension, Ringrose, who plays for the Leinster club, will sit out the upcoming club match this weekend, as well as Ireland’s crucial Six Nations clash against France in Dublin next week. The Irish team is currently enjoying an unbeaten run and is aiming to secure a historic third consecutive championship win in the Six Nations era.
The suspension also encompasses another match, the tournament finale against Italy in Rome. However, there is a possibility for Ringrose to have this last game of the suspension waived, provided he completes World Rugby’s tackle school program.
