INDIANAPOLIS — Mike Green, an NFL draft hopeful and highly-regarded edge rusher, recently opened up about his transfer from Virginia to Marshall. Green, who earned second-team All-America honors, made the move following a second accusation of sexual assault, which he denied. Speaking at the NFL scouting combine on Wednesday, Green also addressed a previous accusation from high school, asserting he was never charged and maintained his innocence.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 251 pounds, Green hails from Williamsburg, Virginia. His tenure with the Cavaliers saw him participate in six games during the 2021 season, but he didn’t play the following year. Reflecting on his time at Virginia, Green stated, “No grudges are held,” regarding his exit from the institution.

During his time with Marshall, Green made a significant impact in the Sun Belt Conference. Last season, he was named Player of the Year after recording an impressive 17 sacks, the highest in major college football at the time. Over two seasons with the Thundering Herd, he accumulated a total of 21 1/2 sacks.

At the NFL combine, Green confidently proclaimed, “I’m the best edge rusher here.” His performance and statistics have added weight to his assertion as he makes his case to NFL teams.
