MADISON, Wis. — During an impressive 88-62 victory over Washington on Tuesday night, Wisconsin’s guard Max Klesmit was sidelined early due to a reported lower leg injury. The incident occurred just over 15 minutes before the end of the first half, and Klesmit did not reappear in the game.

Wisconsin’s head coach, Greg Gard, commented on Klesmit’s situation following the match, noting that the athlete had been contending with the injury for a while. Gard stated, “Once he came out, it was bothering him, so we just decided that was going to be it. It’s been getting better, but tonight for some reason he couldn’t get it loose early in the game. Just decided not to go any farther with it.”

Prior to leaving the court, Klesmit, who usually averages 10.1 points per game, played for five minutes without taking a shot or scoring any points. This development comes as the team prepares to face No. 8 ranked Michigan State on Sunday. Coach Gard refrained from giving a definitive update regarding Klesmit’s ability to participate in the upcoming game, but he mentioned, “I think just some time here today, and we’ve got four days.”
