Kucherov Shines in Lightning’s 4-1 win over Oilers

    TAMPA, Fla. — Nikita Kucherov contributed two assists as the Tampa Bay Lightning secured a 4-1 victory against Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, extending their winning streak.

    The Lightning achieved their sixth consecutive win and hold a strong 7-0-1 record in their last eight matches.

    Brandon Hagel, Nick Paul, Mikey Eyssimont, and Victor Hedman all found the back of the net for Tampa Bay, while goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 saves to help keep the Oilers at bay.

    Leon Draisaitl scored his league-leading 43rd goal for Edmonton, who are struggling with their fourth straight defeat. Edmonton’s goalie Stuart Skinner registered 33 saves in an admirable effort.

    Draisaitl initiated the scoring with a power-play goal at 11:53 in the first period, but Eyssimont responded swiftly, scoring just 1:18 later to even the match.

    During the second period, Hagel and Hedman added to Tampa Bay’s tally, with Paul recording his 18th goal of the season at 7:23 of the third period to cement the 4-1 win.
