In Milan, the anticipated N21 collection by Alessandro Dell’Acqua was unveiled for the upcoming winter at Milan Fashion Week. This collection intricately blends contrasting elements, showcasing both feminine and masculine aesthetics as well as combining delicate materials with more robust ones.

Central to the collection is a revisit to wardrobe essentials, such as the iconic little black dress. The designs cleverly incorporate bows that enhance the neckline or create a sleek racer-back silhouette. Knitwear takes center stage this season with boxy sweaters, set to become wardrobe essentials. These are paired effortlessly with versatile corduroy pants, charming A-line printed skirts, and organza skirts adorned with intricate beadwork.

The bow motif features prominently, accentuating dresses and skirts with oversized designs to shape the silhouette. Overcoats demand attention, characterized by exaggerated dimensions and delicate feather details along the button seams. A striking barn coat made of corduroy with a leather collar makes a statement when layered over a sheer dress, highlighting the collection’s theme of contrasts.

Backstage, Dell’Acqua shared his creative process, revealing his inspiration drawn from Sofia Coppola’s films, notably “Lost in Translation,” “The Virgin Suicides,” and “Marie Antoinette.”

“I find delight in the imperfections,” confessed Dell’Acqua backstage. “There are combinations that seemingly defy conventions, like feathers appearing unexpectedly. To me, these surprises are what make fashion exciting and fresh.”
