The renowned coffee chain, Starbucks, is streamlining its menu by removing certain beverages that have not been as popular. Starting next week, specific drinks will bid farewell as part of this initiative.

In a statement released on Monday, the Seattle-based company announced it would be discontinuing a selection of drinks, which include several blended Frappuccino options, the Royal English Breakfast Latte, and the White Hot Chocolate. These changes will take effect on Tuesday, March 4. According to Starbucks, the decision to remove these items stems from the fact that they are not frequently purchased, can be labor-intensive to make, or closely resemble other menu offerings. By narrowing their focus to fewer items that are consistently popular, Starbucks aims to ensure better quality and service.

The company believes that these cuts will lead to reduced wait times, enhance consistency in product preparation, and open the door for new innovations. Despite these eliminations, Starbucks is set to unveil new beverages, including its recently introduced Cortado and a fresh “Iced Cherry Chai,” which will appear this spring.

This menu revamp accompanies broader corporate restructuring efforts underway at Starbucks. This week, the company also announced a significant downsizing of its global corporate workforce, leading to 1,100 layoffs. CEO Brian Niccol, who took over the role in August, has emphasized the necessity of these changes to improve operational efficiency.

Beyond the imminent changes set for next week, Starbucks has indicated that more beverages and food items will be phased out over the coming months, aiming for an overall reduction of around 30% by the close of the 2025 fiscal year in the U.S. Anticipated to leave the menu on March 4 are the following drinks:

    1. Iced Matcha Lemonade
    2. Espresso Frappuccino
    3. Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino
    4. Java Chip Frappuccino
    5. White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
    6. Chai Crème Frappuccino
    7. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino
    8. Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino
    9. Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino
    10. White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino
    11. White Hot Chocolate
    12. Royal English Breakfast Latte
    13. Honey Almondmilk Flat White

Starbucks hopes these changes will better position the company for continued innovation and responsiveness to customer preferences.
