In a recent update from Washington, Georgetown University’s basketball team has announced that freshman Thomas Sorber will sit out the remainder of the season due to a foot injury. The injury occurred during a game against Butler on February 15, and the young player is scheduled to undergo surgery to address his left foot injury.

Thomas Sorber has been a key player for the Hoyas, ranking as their second-leading scorer and leading the team in rebounds. His impressive performance over 24 games saw him averaging 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Sorber, a standout athlete hailing from Trenton, New Jersey, made a name for himself in high school basketball as a top-50 recruit coming out of Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia. He was also recognized as the third-best player from Pennsylvania.

Georgetown, currently holding a 16-11 overall record and 7-9 in Big East conference play, is set to face off against UConn on Wednesday night. This fixture will be followed by a match against No. 21 Marquette on Saturday, as the Hoyas approach the conclusion of their regular-season conference games. The team is gearing up to finish the season with matchups against Villanova and DePaul next week.
