MEXICO CITY — Authorities in Belize reported the tragic discovery of three American women found deceased at a popular beach resort over the weekend. Police are currently investigating the possibility that drug overdoses could be the cause of their deaths.

The women have been identified as Kaoutar Naqqad, aged 23, Imane Mallah, aged 24, and Wafae El-Arar, aged 26. They were staying at the Royal Kahal Beach Resort. No further information has been provided by the authorities regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

On Friday, resort staff tried multiple times to reach the women after surveillance recordings showed them entering their rooms Thursday evening without recording them leaving afterward. When they failed to get a response by Saturday morning, staff utilized a master key to access the room, uncovering the women’s lifeless bodies.

The precise cause of death has yet to be determined. However, initial observations by first responders revealed that the women were found with frothy substances around their mouths, which often indicates a drug overdose.

No evidence of forced entry or physical harm was noted by the police, who also discovered snacks, beverages, vaping devices, and other electronic gadgets within the accommodation.

Investigations by authorities are still ongoing as they work to uncover further details regarding this incident.
