In a thrilling contest on Sunday, Ryan Conwell emerged as the standout player, scoring 22 points to lead the Xavier Musketeers to a 73-66 victory against Seton Hall in Newark, New Jersey.
Conwell’s impressive performance included an accurate shooting display, hitting 5 of 7 attempts from the field, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc, and making all 8 of his free throw chances. The win improved Xavier’s season record to 18-10, with a conference record of 10-7 in the Big East.

Dante Maddox Jr. contributed significantly as well, finishing the game with 12 points—making both of his field goal attempts and going 7 for 8 from the free throw line—in addition to recording three steals. Zach Freemantle added 11 points, with a shooting stat of 5 of 10, though he struggled from the three-point line, where he made just 1 of 5.

For Seton Hall, Isaiah Coleman was the top scorer, racking up 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals, a commendable effort even as the team fell to 7-20 overall and a disappointing 2-14 in conference play. Prince Aligbe supported him with 11 points and six rebounds, while Garwey Dual managed to score nine points.

Xavier established control of the game midway through the first half, eventually leading by a substantial margin at halftime, 40-21. Conwell was instrumental during this stretch, scoring 15 points before the break. Although Seton Hall managed to outscore Xavier in the second half by a margin of 12 points, it was not enough to overcome the deficit. Maddox was key for Xavier in the latter half, contributing a team-high of nine points.
