ALBANY, N.Y. — In a thrilling matchup on Sunday, Paul McMillan IV led the Canisius Golden Griffins to a hard-fought 93-88 victory over the Siena Saints, scoring a notable 21 points.
McMillan also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing eight rebounds for his team, which now stands at 3-24 overall and 3-13 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Tana Kopa supported the effort with 18 points, showing precision by shooting 5 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 6 from beyond the arc, while also sinking all of his free throw attempts. Cam Palesse added to the tally, scoring 16 points with an effective shooting performance of 7 of 11 from the field, including making 2 of 3 from three-point range. This victory marked the end of an eight-game losing streak for the Golden Griffins.
On the opposing side, Gavin Doty had an impressive performance for the Saints, finishing with 23 points, eight rebounds, and three steals, while Reid Ducharme contributed 21 points. Brendan Coyle also made his mark in the game, scoring 20 points, along with five steals and a couple of blocks.
Looking ahead, Canisius is set to host Manhattan on Friday, while Siena will be on the road to face Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday.
