VERONA, Italy — During a recent Serie A match on Sunday, Fiorentina striker Moise Kean suffered a head injury after collapsing on the field.
The incident occurred after Kean had been struck in the face earlier in the game and had received treatment. Shortly after returning to play, he fell to the ground following a collision with players from Hellas Verona.
Although he did not seem to lose consciousness, he was quickly assisted and transported off the field on a stretcher, receiving applause from the local supporters in Verona. Following the incident, he was taken to a nearby hospital for further examination.
This marks the second incident this season involving a Fiorentina player collapsing on the field; previously, Edoardo Bove lost consciousness in December and required a medically induced coma along with the implantation of a heart defibrillator.
Despite this incident, Moise Kean has been enjoying a remarkable season, having scored 15 goals, his best performance to date.
