Dixon nets 16 points in UC Irvine’s 73-64 win over Cal State Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A strong performance from Jurian Dixon propelled UC Irvine to a 73-64 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday evening.

Dixon led the Anteaters with 16 points while also contributing six rebounds and five assists, solidifying his impact on the game. The Anteaters, now boasting a record of 23-5 overall and 13-3 in the Big West Conference, also saw Bent Leuchten shine with 12 points and a significant 11 rebounds. Myles Che added to the scoring tally, finishing with 12 points by going 4 of 12 shooting, including two successful attempts from beyond the arc.

On the other side, the Roadrunners, standing at 12-17 overall and 6-11 in their conference play, had Jemel Jones leading their scoring efforts with 18 points. Fidelis Okereke also contributed with 15 points, while Corey Stephenson rounded out the scoring with 11 points along with eight rebounds.

Looking ahead, both teams will be back on the court this Thursday. UC Irvine will face Cal State Fullerton, who is currently struggling with an eight-game losing streak, whereas Cal State Bakersfield will head to Long Beach State to continue their season.
