Gabe Dorsey delivered an impressive performance with 21 points in William & Mary’s 79-70 triumph over Elon on Saturday evening.
Dorsey shot 7 of 11 from the field, which included an outstanding 7 for 9 from beyond the arc, contributing significantly to the Tribe’s success. Alongside him, Kyle Pulliam provided support by chipping in 13 points, managing to hit 3 of 11 shots from the field; despite struggling with his three-point shooting (1 for 6), he did well at the charity stripe, going 6 for 7. Caleb Dorsey also contributed to the scoreboard with 12 points, hitting 4 of 9 attempts, with a couple of those being three-pointers (2 for 6).
On the other side, the Phoenix were led by TK Simpkins, who had a standout game with a remarkable 30 points. Sam Sherry also made an impact, adding 19 points and securing eight rebounds for Elon, while Brayden Crump rounded out the offense with eight points.
William & Mary established control of the game by taking the lead with 6:20 left in the first half and maintained it for the remainder of the contest. They went into halftime with a solid 46-31 advantage, thanks to Gabe Dorsey’s 15 points during that period. Though Elon outscored William & Mary by six points in the second half, the Tribe’s defense held strong, with Caleb Dorsey stepping up to lead in the second half with nine points for his team.
Looking ahead, William & Mary will face UNC Wilmington at home on Monday, while Elon will travel to Monmouth for their next game on Thursday.
