NEW ORLEANS — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Micah Thomas delivered a standout performance with 23 points, leading Northwestern State to a 73-66 victory over the Privateers of New Orleans.
Thomas showcased his skills by converting 7 of his 14 attempts from the field and impressively hitting 5 of 9 from beyond the arc. Additionally, he was perfect at the free-throw line, making all four of his attempts. Other notable performances for the Demons came from Love Bettis, who contributed 15 points with a shooting line of 4 for 8, while capitalizing on all six of his free-throw attempts. Jerald Colonel rounded out the scoring with eight points, hitting 4 of his 6 shots.
On the other side, the Privateers, struggling with a ten-game losing streak, saw their top scorer Kohen Rowbatham finish with 20 points. Luke Davis also provided solid support, recording 17 points, nine rebounds, and two steals. Michael Thomas added to the effort with 11 points, along with nine rebounds and four steals, but it was not enough to secure a win, marking another disappointing night for New Orleans, who are now at 4-24 overall.
The game highlighted the strength of Northwestern State, boosting them to an overall record of 13-15 and a respectable 9-8 within the Southland Conference.
