Johnson scores 22 as Southern defeats Grambling 71-64

    GRAMBLING, La. — On Saturday, Southern University secured a 71-64 victory over Grambling State with a stellar performance from Jordan Johnson, who scored 22 points.
    Johnson was particularly impressive, making 8 of his 12 shots, and hitting 6 out of 7 from three-point range, greatly contributing to the Jaguars’ (18-9, 13-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference) success.
    Cam Amboree played a crucial role as well, adding 13 points with a shooting record of 6 for 11, which included 1 for 3 from long distance.
    Additionally, Michael Jacobs contributed to the scoreboard with 12 points while shooting 4 of 11 from the field and converting 3 of 5 attempts from the free-throw line.

    Grambling State (9-18, 6-8) was spearheaded by Chilaydrien Newton, who managed to score 13 points.
    Kintavious Dozier and Mikale Stevenson also provided significant contributions, each tallying 11 points.
    Stevenson further enhanced his performance by recording four assists as well.
