Kennesaw, Georgia – Zawdie Jackson was instrumental in New Mexico State’s triumph over Kennesaw State, contributing 20 points in a 60-49 win on Saturday night.

Jackson also recorded five rebounds, helping the Aggies improve their record to 15-12 with an 8-6 standing in Conference USA. Peter Filipovity complemented Jackson’s efforts by scoring 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds. For Kennesaw State, which now stands at 16-12 with an 8-7 conference record, Simeon Cottle was the standout player, netting 17 points.

Adrian Wooley also made a notable contribution for the Owls, finishing the game with 14 points and six rebounds, while Frankquon Sherman added seven points and registered two steals.

The Aggies entered halftime with a narrow lead of 22-21, with Filipovity leading the scoring for New Mexico State up to that point with eight points. Jackson then took charge in the second half, scoring 12 points as the game unfolded, showcasing a dynamic half that included eight lead changes and three instances where the teams were tied.

Looking ahead, both teams are gearing up for their next matches on Thursday. New Mexico State will host Middle Tennessee, while Kennesaw State will be hitting the road to take on Florida International.
